We are aware of the impact of class size on student’s learning. Except in special circumstances, our maximum class size is 22.This is consistent with the situation in comparable private international schools.

This means that we keep class sizes to 22 except in some circumstances where the class size may rise to 23 or on occassions 24 students. Where this happens, we try to find alternative arrangements for the additional students or provide additional support to the teacher where necessary.

Learning Assistants are generally deployed as follows:

• Early Years - full time Learning Assistant in every class
• Years 1 and 2 - each class has a Learning Assistant for 50% of the time
• Years 3 to 6 - each class has a Learning Assistant for 33% of the time

Learning Support Assistants are employed to work on a one to one basis with individual students on a either a full or part time basis. This is agreed between the school and the individual family.
